1st of Av – Total Solar Eclipse (Aug 1, 2008)

On Av 1, 5768 (Aug 1, 2008) an Eclipse happened over Russia, which is the first of three that land on the First of Av.  The solar eclipse of this day was a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.0394 that was visible from a narrow corridor through northern Canada (Nunavut), Greenland, central Russia, eastern Kazakhstan, western Mongolia and China. It belonged to the so-called midnight sun eclipses, as it was visible from regions experiencing midnight sun. The largest city on the path of the eclipse was Novosibirsk in Russia. Total Lunar Eclipse (Feb 20, 2008)

A Total lunar Eclipse will occur tomorrow Feb 20, 2008.
View Full image of a Blood Moon that I have. I’m really pleased with myself because I got this one on film myself, although my pictures didn’t really come out like I wanted them too. This took place for me at around 18:30 in the evening, and I had my camera! I was on my way to church right then. (continue reading…)

Tisheri 1 (Happy NewYears)

This Sep 13th 2007 is the first day of the Jewish New Year! Two days ago we had a Partial Solar Eclipse on Sep 11, 2007. It has been six years since the American Towers event. This year of 5768 runs across 2007 and 2008 until the New Moon on Sep 29 next year.

Total Lunar Eclipse

The date for this one is Elul 14, 5767 so there is not a Jewish holiday or Feast day on this Eclipse, but Elul is the last day of the year for Jewish Calendar. I’m committed to watching the heavens and looking for signs and seasons.

This Lunar Eclipse could be seen were I live, but it started after midnight so I personally missed it.  (continue reading…)
