Today is the first day of the month, the first day of the year of 5769.  It’s Tisheri 1st the Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets which is the Jewish New Year. There is little resemblance between the Feast of Trumpets, one of the holiest days of the year, and a typical New Year’s Eve midnight drinking party.
